  • @pilar_bear shared a picture of my first baby hat gift today. ❀️ This beautiful fabric was an off cut sent to me by the lovely @sweetlittlechickadee and I scraped a top out of it before using the tiny scraps to sew up this little hat. It's appropriate because @pilar_bear is hosting a restyle exchange over on her blog with @amynicolestudio. The Restyling Exchange is a global fashion swap connecting restylers all over the world to promote the value of refashioned clothing, deepen the online sewing & crafting community, and challenge your creativity. The deadline for signing up is tomorrow. For more info head over to pilar or Amy's blog.

  • Well my decision to buy online without knowing if these two fabrics would work together paid off! πŸ€πŸ’šπŸ€ now to figure out what pattern to sew πŸ˜‘πŸ™ˆπŸ˜³ Why do I always leave things till the last hour? .

  • Today's #makersforfashrev topic is 'one mans waste'. Although I'm not a great refashionista I try not to let any usable fabric get thrown out. These baby hats are made with off cuts and scrap fabrics. I make them for friends and family but recently started making tiny ones for premature babies to keep them warm. Although it's important to make sure the fabric is safe to use, I've now made over 50 of these hats from garments/fabrics that would have been otherwise thrown away. .

There's only 3 days left to purchase tickets and spend a night hanging out with us so get your skates on!

  • Currently finding it hard to decide which precious fabric to cut into. I'm making the zip up jacket from @thatwendyward's first book and really want a 'wear it with everything' number in my wardrobe ❀️. This make is also exciting because it will end in a giveaway! (But not from my fabric stash.... get your hands off my fabric!πŸ˜‚).

Win tickets to Kirstie Allsopp’s Handmade fair

For those of you who watch Location Location Location, you may already know that Kirstie was set the massive challenge of finding me a house with enough room for a sewing studio, a place for waldo to run about and at least a cupboard for my partner who pays the mortgage.

Although she may have thought it was an impossible task she succeeded and now I’m in the process of slowly moving my fabric hoard to a new permanent home. It seems Kirstie has been extremely busy for not only did she scour the whole of the west midlands for my perfect sewing pad, she’s arranged for her awesome handmade fair to be held on my home turf. Just for me, of course. πŸ™‚

Having already enjoyed three successful years at Hampton Court Palace, The Handmade Fair is launching a second event at Ragley Hall, Park and Gardens in May. Taking place from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th May 2017, The Handmade Fair at Ragley will bring together Britain’s best handmade products, crafts supplies, and artisan foods.

Three celebrity faces will be hosting the event over the 3 day’s with Kirstie taking the reigns on Friday, Liz Earle sitting pretty on Saturday and Patrick Grant concluding the event on Sunday.Β  Just like the Hampton court shows there will be crafting galore, sewing shoppers heaven and you can even buy VIP tickets that give you free flowing Prosecco! YES PLEASE.

To celebrate my Instagram feed reaching 5k of fantastic followers Kirstie has given me a massive 5 pairs of entry tickets that can be used for any day of the event to giveaway. I am giving 3 pairs away on my Instagram feed and 2 pairs over here. I will be attending the show on Sunday 14th May and I’m arranging a mini tea and chat meet-up for all the sewists who want a cuppa and a hug. I don’t want to get in the way of your crafting, shopping or Patrick stalking too much!

To win a pair of blog tickets please leave a comment below sharing which day you’d like to attend and why, and your Instagram feed name or email so I can contact you about ticket delivery.Β  For a chance to win a pair of tickets on my Instagram feed head over to the Giveaway post and follow the instructions.Β  You can enter both the blog and Instagram giveaway and the competition is open from now until 21st Feb 21.00h GMT.

If you simply can’t wait to win tickets or you like the sound of that free flowing Prosecco you can buy tickets now from The Handmade Fair website. I hope to see many of your faces during the event and good luck to all of you who enter the giveaway.

Terms and conditions:
  • Tickets are entry only and do not grant access to makes, VIP areas or Grand theater.
  • Tickets have no cash value and are non-transferable or to be sold. If in the event you are unable to attend after winning please contact me to reallocate your tickets.
  • Individuals can enter both Blog and Instagram giveaway but are eligible to win only one pair of tickets. If in the event the same individual wins two pairs of tickets another name will be randomly chosen.
  • The winners will be chosen by entering all the legal entry names into a random name generator.
  • Instagram entries will only be considered if they have followed all the requirements in the post.
  • If a winner does not respond to my email/contact within 5 days another winner will be chosen
  • Competition open to EU residents but please consider if you can attend the event before entering.
  • No travel, lunch or parking expenses will be paid for.
  • Accounts solely used for giveaways or private Instagram accounts will not be considered for transparency reasons.
  • Competition ends 21st Feb 21.00h. Any entries after that time will not be considered.
