WOW! What can I say? That was some party you guys made. I don’t think my fingers stayed still for more than a minute. I was blown away by every single garment and by the support you showed each other during the event. This is exactly why I plan community parties. From having people who have never sewn with jersey breaking out the double needle to more experienced seamstresses designing a hack that I’d never of dreamed was possible makes my heart sing. I particularly enjoyed the gathering of monetas in Dewsbury arranged by the inspiring Hila of Saturday night stitch whom clearly knows how to get a party started. She was joined by 9 ladies wearing monetas making it a proper moneta party fest.

Although you are all winners in my eyes, I have great pleasure in announcing that the 9 semi-finalist who win individual prizes from their sponsors as well as a pair Earnest and wright embroidery scissors.

Pilar_bear was voted in by the wonderful Guthrie and Ghani who fell in love with Pilar’s low back ballerina style dress and beautiful photo. Pilar lives in spain with her husband and toddler, and is the founder of Pilarbearpatternshare and also has a #sewingmama collaboration with @katerelton. She wins a £20 fabric voucher to spend at Guthrie and Ghani.

Pigeonwishes was chosen by Crafty sew and so for her gorgeous frill hack and party style. Meg is a Vlogger and has her own youtube channel and lives in London. She gets a £10 voucher to spend at Crafty sew and so, which as a self-proclaimed fabric addict won’t be too hard! We want to see a fabric haul vlog meg!

Dankajx’s clever roll neck hack caught fabworkmills eye and the flowers obviously sealed the deal.  Danka has a blog where she shares her lovely sewing and knitting, lives in Oxfordshire and enjoys cakes as much as me. She will be getting £20 credit to spend at Fabworksmill online, but a trip to the store up north is well worth it. Maybe she can be persuaded for another Hila party.

RosieJaneSews beautiful blue Moneta and pink accessories meant that Minerva crafts couldn’t resist her happy grin and also her sipsmith gin. Jane loves sewing on her new Janome machine and shares her lovely makes on Instagram. She will be getting her hands on a £50 jersey bundle from Minerva crafts and I can’t wait to see what she makes.

Amymore10 wowed Sew Essential with her dramatic black leatherette Moneta, which fabric came from Birmingham rag market. Amy has a Vlog channel where shares her beautiful makes with us sewists. She will be getting a pattern of her choice from Sew Essential and I hope she shares it on her vlog for us to see.

Cforcer’s blue lace beauty put her in the running when Faberwoods fell in love with her photo and use of fabric. Charlotte lives in the Midlands with her beautiful children, has a sewing blog, runs and also been known to rub shoulders with Rock legends in her spare time. She will receive a goodie box from Faberwoods and I’m super envious of this!

lasoffittadeighiri showed up to the party not only in a rocking Moneta but also to provide us with dance music! Girl Charlee could not resist. Manuela is a self-taught seamstress who lives in the woods in Italy with her husband. She is passionate about all things sewing which she shares on her blog. Girl Charlee will be sending her 3m of their fabric so we look forward to seeing it sewn up.

Sewvee always shows up to the party in style and for the second year running has made it into the final 9. Victoria lives in Bath (not in the bath) and is figuratively a walking rainbow. Her beautiful wax print dresses can be found on her blog as well as Instagram. Although Sewvee partied with the original party crew she didn’t get any prizes so I am super happy to hand over a £20 store credit from Adam ross for her to make awesome things this year.

_ym.sews_ braved the storm in her maxi Moneta hack and the Villiage Haberdashery approved of it’s floaty appearance and use of stripes. Yasmin lives in wales and packs in more sewing in a week than I manage in a month around her career as a doctor. She’s part o the Minerva blogger community and shares her makes there and on Instagram. She get’s to spend £25 at The Villiage Haberdashery!

Few! These lovely talented ladies pictures will now be sent off to Colette HQ who will decide who will be put to the public vote. We hope you will all continue to party and We send out Moneta hugs to you all.

  • ❤️️ Thank you. To each and everyone of you who supported me positively on my last post. Contrary to belief, I can be incredibly negative and the last month I've been in crisis with my depression over my failing physical health. To read I'm not alone (so much love to those who experience chronic illness), to know my mobility aids won't scare you off and that when I'm low I can read your words and feel comfort.... it means more that I can say. Life saving in fact. Thank you for not turning your back on me. #thisgirlcan ❤️️.

  • I have to admit that I'm very nervous about posting this photo. Today on my blog I'm sharing a personal side to my sewing whilst reviewing @fehrtrade's new book 'sew your own activewear' and looking at adapting patterns for my disability. I have for a long time hidden my walking aids behind the photographer and found it hard to come to terms with how by body has changed. Although the temptation to photoshop this image was strong, I have never doctored my pictures because this is my reality and I can't pretend otherwise. I'd really appreciate you popping over to have a read of my LYCRA loving journey. I feel like I've learned so much and hope that you can see that even if you're not a gym bunny, you can still have a bit of @fehrtrade in your life. ❤️️.

  • As I feel that my poor long suffering partner has been lumped with me, this card means an awful lot today. I'm spending v day in hospital getting MRI scans, which to be fair are probably the most expensive v day gift I've ever had. LOVE YOU NHS. .
I hate v day, so sending bitchy supportive vibes to all those who do to. DOWN WITH THIS SORT OF THING! Careful now!
  • Final sneak before my blog post. These coverstitch decorative details have an actual purpose... want to have a guess what it is? .
Also If you overlock/coverstitch you're going to NEED this fluffy nylon thread from @sewessentialuk. It's made a massive difference to my make.
Fabric from @stoffstil ❤️️.

  • Sexy sexy details are sexy. Can't quite believe I've made a functioning panel pocket IN SHINY LYCRA. To think once I couldn't even use jersey and thought you had to interface the whole fabric so you could cut it 🤔 yep. I don't know either 🤗 also, do any of you have to wash *themselves before trying on newly finished garments? Or is that just me... .
Fabrics: all from @stoffstil. Contrast neon thread (more to come on that front) @sewessentialuk. Pattern: from @fehrtrade 'sew your own active wear' ❤️️#sewyourownactivewear @sewandsouk
  • Of course I choose to do my first ever exposed zip on fabric that is pretty much water 👍😂 thanks to @tillybuttons excellent tutorial it went swimmingly 🏊🏻‍♀️.
